Full blue-green cloth with a design in black and gold by David Eccles; pale blue endleaves with a map. Black slip case. This volume was issued in Folio’s series of Victorian works of exploration and travel. The plates reproduce illustrations issued to accompany early editions of the work, while the frontispiece is a portrait of Darwin painted in 1840.
