Type: Garamond with Amasis, Bembo, Gill Shadow, Kuenstler Script and Parisian for display, and hand-drawn lettering (by Fanelli) for the title-spread. Printed and bound by the Bath Press. Full silver cloth with a design in colour by Fanelli; dark blue endleaves. Red slip case. The five short novels are Henry James’s The turn of the screw, Jack London’s The call of the wild, Thomas Mann’s Death in Venice (translated by H.T. Lowe-Porter), D.H. Lawrence’s The virgin and the gipsy and Colette’s Gigi (translated by Roger Senhouse and Patrick Leigh Fermor).
