Bound by Real Lachenmaier. Dark green cloth-covered clamshell box. The two volumes are as follows:
[1] The decameron of Giovanni Boccaccio. 254 × 165 × 58 mm. Pp. [1–6] 7–709 [710–712]. Type: Poliphilus. The leaf before the title-page (dated MCMLIV): ‘This edition of The Decameron is limited to 1750 numbered copies printed by St Edmundsbury Press, Bury St Edmunds, and bound by Real Lachenmaier, Germany, in full Wassa goatskin leather blocked with a design by Jeff Clements’. The special binding is in red leather with a design in gold and black. Black leather spine-label; green endleaves.
[2] The happy art of narration, readings of Boccaccio and the decameron. 245 × 156 × 2 mm. Pp. [1–8]. Type: Poliphilus and Blado. Sewn into green paper wrappers with pasted label titled (as above). This new pamphlet includes short excerpts from John Dryden, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Hazlitt, Percy Bysshe Shelley and James Leigh Hunt.
