Alice’s adventures under ground. By Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson). Printed by Memminger MedienCentrum. Dark green two-volume box decorated with a design by Neil Gower in gold, inset with a reproduction of a photograph of Alice Liddell taken by the author. The two volumes are as follows:
[1] Alice’s adventures under ground. [facsimile]. 193 × 130 × 16 mm. Pp. [i–iv], [1] 2–90 [91–92]. Bound by Real Lachenmaier in full dark green Nigerian goatskin leather blocked in gold. Gilded edges. Cream endleaves. The edition statement reads in part ‘limited to 3750 copies’. Reproduced from the manuscript written and
decorated by Carroll held by the British Library (Add. MS 46700) presented to Alice Liddell for Christmas in 1864. Alice’s adventures in wonderland, illustrated by John Tenniel, was published the following year. The volume rests in a recess of the box.
