Charles Dickens, the old curiosity shop, with the original illustrations by “Phiz” [Hablot K. Browne], George Cattermole, S. Williams and Daniel Maclise, introduction by John Mullan. 261 × 171 × 47 mm. Pp. [1–2], [i–iv] v–xvii [xviii–xx], 1–593 [594]. Type: Bulmer with Verdi for display. Typeset by R. and R. Clark for the Nonesuch Press in 1937 (the preliminaries by Folio), printed by the Saint Edmundsbury Press. Bound by Real Lachenmaier in series binding. The illustrations consist of 76 charming wood-engravings after drawings by the artists named on the title-page, plus a number of similar historiated initials. The wood-engravers who reproduced the artists’ drawings were Ebenezer Landells and Charles Gray.
