Type: Baskerville. Printed by Memminger MedienCentrum. Bound by Real Lachenmaier in full blue buckram blocked in gold, black, white and pale blue with a design by Neil Gower. Pale blue endleaves printed with map by Gower. Blue slip case. Gower also supplied an illustrated battle plan on page [329]. Primarily illustrated by photographs of paintings, etchings, drawings, engravings and printed material. The first of the Aubrey-Maturin series issued by Folio. At the time of O’Brian’s death in 2000 he was working on the twenty-first instalment.
